NATIONAL DRUG EDUCATION PROGRAM

     According to WIKIPEDIA, Drug education is the planned provision of information, resources and skills relevant to living in a world where Psychoactive substances are widely available and commonly used for a variety of both medical and non-medical purposes, some of which may lead to harms such as overdose, injury, infectious diseases (such as HIV or hepatitis C), or addiction.

     Drug education in the Philippines first received its mandate in the early 1970’s by the way of Republic Act No. 6425 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs act of 1972) which was later replaced by Republic Act no. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)

     A memorandum in January 30, 2009 D.O. 12, s. 2009 which states the strengthening of the National Drug Education Program (NDEP) in schools.

OBJECTIVE: The school, together with our School Head and other Persons involved, aim to enhance Social Awareness on the bad effects of the use of illegal Drugs and other substance, and prevent the use among students by providing interventions in the best possible ways and practices.
