DepEd WATER, SANITATION, AND HYGIENE IN SCHOOLS
(WINS) PROGRAM

Global Handwashing Day

A. Wins Area: WATER

  • Safe drinking water is provided by the school but supply is not regular.
  • The quality of water is tested more than once every calendar year. We make sure    that every quarter the water is tested.
  • The water for cleaning is available on a daily basis and we also have water containers in case of water supply interruption.

B. Wins Area: SANITATION

  • The number of toilets is insufficient to the number of pupil’s population (1 :102).
  • The toilets are secure, private, with door and look, have lightning and adequate ventilation. The toilets are cleaned and sanitized daily.

C. Wins Area: HYGIENE

  • Daily supervised handwashing and toothbrushing cannot be perform in daily basis due to lack of handwashing facility.

D. Wins Area: DEWORMING

  • 44% of our pupils were dewormed

E. Wins Area: HEALTH EDUCATION

  • There were different signages had been posted in each toilets and hand washing facilities in our school to promote awareness of correct hygiene and sanitation practices but we are lack of Wins learning/ instructional materials as well as stakeholders to support the wins advocacy.
